Dianabad and Office high-rise
Due to the dilapidated condition of the Dianabad, which was constructed in 1964 and 1965, it was deemed more cost-effective to demolish the old building and simultaneously construct an office high-rise.
The foundation is supported by piles. Because of the high groundwater level in this area, a "White Tank" was implemented in the deeper areas. The parts of the pool that lie beneath the office building were bridged with minimal supports using a support structure. Those parts of the pool that are not within the area of the office high-rise were covered by a wide-span steel structure, which also serves as a supporting structure for the recreational areas of the pool.
Great attention was given to the placement of the pools to avoid cracks due to constraints. The connections between the pool edges and the rest of the structure had to be carefully analyzed both statically and constructively, with the deformation paths of the individual elements used as a basis for the design of the bridging structures.
