Bus Garage Leopoldau

The construction of a new bus garage was necessary because the garage on Vorgartenstraße had reached its capacity limits. The new Leopoldau Bus Garage in Vienna's 21st district, Katharina Scheiter-Gasse, takes over the tasks of the Vorgartenstraße garage, and with its commissioning, the Grinzing bus garage was also closed. The bus lines operated from Grinzing were divided between the Spetterbrücke and Leopoldau bus garages.

The bus mega-garage is designed to accommodate 240 regular buses, which is approximately 160 articulated buses, in its storage hall.

Spanning around 20,000 square meters of usable area, the Wiener Linien now have three state-of-the-art bus garages with a total of 500 parking spaces. The garage also includes a repair hall, two bus washing facilities, and a liquefied natural gas (LNG) refueling station. Approximately 140 employees work in the bus maintenance area. The administrative building houses about 50 employees responsible for scheduling and other operational tasks. Additionally, the administrative building provides changing rooms, rest areas, and restroom facilities for approximately 550 bus drivers.
