Bomardier

The company Bombardier Transportation Austria GmbH & CoKG (BTA) is a subsidiary of the Canadian Bombardier Group. BTA operates as a legally independent business and, together with the Bombardier location in Bautzen, Germany, forms the Light Railway Vehicles (LRV) division of the Bombardier Transportation segment. The Head Office of the LRV division is located in Vienna, along with offices for the Mainline, Services, Signaling, and Propulsion & Control divisions.

Currently situated in the 21st district of Vienna, on an approximately 47,000 m² operational site, BTA primarily designs and manufactures rail vehicles for urban transport (trams, light rail vehicles) as well as special vehicles. Since 2001, the company has also leased around 2,000 m² of additional office space at Donaufelder Straße 101 and 103. Due to the limited space available at the current location on Donaufelder Straße 73-79, there is a need for a new factory building. Currently, the site employs 490 people, and additional temporary workers are hired during production peaks to meet the demand.
